Our call to the mission field began with becoming the directors of 99plus1 Ministries, and we launched into the mission field in May of 2020.
99plus1 Ministries is a Christian Missions Base located in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico. Inspired by The Parable of the Los Sheep, its mission is encapsulated a word: The One. We seek the one lost soul, the one people group in need of the love of Jesus, and the one ministry to be nurtured and reintroduced under the Lord's guidance.
It’s through short-term mission’s teams that we are able to reach the one. Through various outreach opportunities, we hope to spread the Word of God and the love of Christ deep into the community.
In addition to being a mission’s base, we have a full-time, round the clock, ministry to a forgot community on our property; the elderly. There is a two-fold ministry to the elder: 1) The Serenity House, Senior Residence Home offered to men who have no family nor the ability to provide for themselves, and 2) a Senior Community Center where the elderly can come and socialize, receive a meal, and most importantly, hear the gospel.

On August 1, 2022, I became the Senior Pastor of San Felipe Mission Church (SFMC). This was an unexpected yet very exciting opportunity to minister in the local community at a deeper level.
In January 2022, the pastor of the church resigned and I was asked to be a part of the three-man rotating teaching team, as well as a member of the Pastoral Search Committee; an experience I had not known and looked forward to.
It was during this time that God began to call me to pastor this church. He used the encouraging words of many church, board, and search committee members to reveal His plan.
At first, I was not receptive to the idea. After all, we had only been in San Felipe a couple years at this point and were called here through 99plus1 Ministries. That is, however, until I felt what perhaps Jonah may have felt in running the wrong direction.
After much prayer, discussion with friends and family, and counsel from those go-to spiritual men in my life, the call could no longer be ignored, as the Lord could not be anymore obvious about His will.
It was also apparent the Lord, for the time being, desired that we continue to oversee 99plus1 Ministries and I become the new pastor of SFMC.
The two ministries remain independent of one another, yet closely work side-by-side. It’s our belief, as well as the belief of many others, that in doing so, it will strengthen both ministries individually as well as their impact together in the community.
The church has an American/Canadian congregation and a Mexican congregation. The church originally had a Mexican pastor who taught our Spanish service and oversaw the Mexican congregation. I was to teach the English service and shepherd the entire church as the Senior Pastor.
This was the plan…however, in March of 2023 the Mexican pastor decided it was time for him to move on, and with him he took approximately 90% of the congregation. The question then became whether or not to continue with a Mexican congregation. My heart has always been if there is just one, then I will be there.
So, I began to teach and lead the handful of people who stayed with us. 18 months later, God has blessed us by adding to the church new members. Some who were new all together to church, and others who had been unchurched for some time.
This is my first Senior Pastor position, and it has been a pure joy to see God work in and through our church.
